Workshop Presenters:
Chester H. Hobbs, IV specializes in estate planning and administration; trust drafting and administration; and commercial, bankruptcy, and corporate law. He frequently advises clients regarding limited-liability companies as well as business and individual tax planning. His corporate practice includes mergers and acquisitions and the formation of corporations, partnerships, and other business entities. His bankruptcy practice involves representation of personal and corporate clients. Mr. Hobbs handles commercial and residential real estate transactions for the firm and for Lawyer's Choice Title, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary. He is an agent for the Chicago Title Company and Commonwealth Land Title Company. Mr. Hobbs has taught estate and trust law at Villa Julie College in Stevenson, Maryland. He is a member of the Baltimore County and Maryland State Bar Associations. He is a member of the Maryland Estate Planning Council and the Estates and Trusts Section of the Maryland State Bar Association. In addition to all Maryland courts, Mr. Hobbs is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia. Mr. Hobbs is a graduate of the University of Baltimore (B.A. 1984) and the University of Baltimore School of Law (J.D., 1987; L.L.M. in taxation, 2004).
Steven J. Isaac, CPA is President and owner of Atlantic Financial, Inc. Prior to opening Atlantic Financial in 1993, Steven obtained his CPA license and practiced public accounting for 8 years after obtaining a business degree from the University of Maryland. He has guided his mortgage company through many interest rate and credit cycles with careful attention to ever changing mortgage program guidelines. Steven uses his financial services background to ensure each client is educated on his financing options and chooses the mortgage program best suited for the individual. Steven is a member of the National Association of Mortgage Bankers and the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association. Steven is known for his top notch customer service and ability to simplify the mortgage process for his customers.
Sara T. Jacoby, CFP®, ChFC® is a Registered Representative of Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. and an Investment Advisor Representative of Cambridge Investment Research Advisors, Inc. She graduated from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree majoring in Finance. After graduation, she joined the Washington, DC branch of Alex. Brown & Sons, Inc. Sara holds the FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses, as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses in the State of Maryland. In addition, Sara is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a Chartered Financial Consultant®. She joined The Legacy Group, Inc. in January, 2005 after four years as a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley. Sara takes a holistic approach with her clients, helping them to create a comprehensive financial plan that addresses all of their financial needs. Once the client's goals are determined, an investment plan and asset allocation model are developed and implemented. These are then reviewed on a periodic basis. Sara lives in Westminster with her husband Bob. She is very active in her community, serving on numerous charitable Boards and committees.
Craig R. Lestner is a Representative of Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. and an Investment Advisor Representative of Cambridge Investment Research Advisors, Inc. Upon graduating from Towson University in 1999 with a BS in Finance, he began his career as a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley. Craig holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses, as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses in the State of Maryland. He joined The Legacy Group, Inc. in January, 2005, after five years as a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley. Craig focuses on reviewing investment strategies for current clients as well as working with new clients in the financial planning and investment advisory processes. He specializes in asset protection strategies, reviewing clients' existing insurance policies and evaluating their overall need and the appropriate types of coverage. Craig lives in Baltimore with his wife Allyson, son Gabe, and their Chocolate Lab Molly. He has been active in The Associated Jewish Charities, Towson University Alumni Association, and Pathfinders for Autism.
Connie S. Moore, CPA, CVA is President/Owner of Midas Business & Consulting Services, Inc. and Midas Touch Inc. d/b/a Liberty Tax Service. Connie founded these corporations in 2005 after leaving employment at Rowles & Company, LLP, a public accounting firm in Towson, Maryland. Prior to working at Rowles she worked at a firm in Colorado Springs. In addition she has 20 years in public service working for the U.S. Veterans Administration at a medical center in Pennsylvania. She has a B.S. in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University and a M.S. in Taxation from Washington School of Law, Salt Lake City, Utah. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and is a Certified Valuation Analyst. Midas Business & Consulting is a small firm that provides services to individual and small businesses. These services include tax planning and preparation, financial planning, business-start-up assistance, and bookkeeping and accounting services. She also provides litigation support services for divorce clients and attorneys, including business valuations and financial statements for court. She also provides franchise consulting services for those considering entering the entrepreneurial world of franchising. Under Midas Touch Inc., she owns three Liberty Tax Service offices and will be adding a third location. These offices are retail tax preparation offices for individuals and businesses.
Michael P. Shealy was born in Newport, Rhode Island to a Navy family. He graduated from Shippensburg University in 1990 with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. Immediately following graduation, Mr. Shealy was recruited by New England Financial, where in early 1991 he was honored as the Top and Best Overall New Associate of the Year. He was associated with New England until the end of 1995. In mid 1995 Mr. Shealy joined The Legacy Group, Inc. He is serving as Vice President and heads up the Corporate Benefits Division. He is a Representative of Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. and an Investment Advisor Representative of Cambridge Investment Research Advisors, Inc.
